Thoughts and Expressions
My Take on Things

As a journalist, I have to be objective in my writing, so this is an area where I am free of objectivity.  More importantly I have a place where I can express my commentary on the world free of constraints.  Not to mention venting about life as a freelance writer.

While the main focus of my blog is expressing thoughts and ideas about writing and building a freelance career - I intend to talk about various topics that I am passionate about and would like to write stories about at some point.

Woman in a Man's World - this is an intriguing focal interest in my social evaluation of the world around me. As a woman growing into her adulthood, this reality continues to come into sharper focus.  It's fascinating how the world works out the way it does, nature, civilization, mental ability - where we evolve and where we are stagnant.

Other topics always on my mind:
- environment-global changes
- lawmaking and citizen power (politics and policies)
- responsibility of living in a nation of free expression
- the nature of people - in their roles at work/home/play
- balance between feminism and femininity
- fears of the modern American - consequences of technology, convenience and apathy (we can lose our freedoms, just take them for granted and watch them slip away)

AND...

- Philosophy - Do we all live in a dark cave like Plato said, perceiving only the shadows on the wall from some light source outside the cave?  Are we prisoners of our own minds?  Food for thought.
INSPIRATION

Where do I get my inspiration to write? It comes in every way imaginable, from everywhere inside and outside myself.
I always knew writing as my path and wrote many short stories and poems as a teenager, dreaming of the day I'd see my byline in a magazine and my name on a book cover. Today I work to spread awareness and connect with people through my writing.  My name is on bylines, I'm on the Web and soon you'll see my name on a novel.  Work for your dreams!
