I will give you a tiny excerpt from my teen novel:

 Tomorrow's Legend

Sam is instantly enveloped in thick, disorienting blackness.  Just as she starts to wonder if she pushed the wrong button, small bursts of light begin to illuminate the darkness around her, revealing her location. She is floating in outer space surrounded by billions of stars.  In the distance, a bluish light speeds toward her, growing larger as it approaches.  Her stomach flutters.  The light reveals giant letters as it grows closer.  Sam can clearly see the words “Tomorrow’s Legend” when they stop directly in front of her, then slowly dissolve into the blackness.  A shiny, silver spacecraft resembling a metal teardrop materializes beside her, although the metal looks more liquid than solid.  The sliding hatch slowly opens to reveal an empty seat. It must be waiting for her to fill it, she reasons.  Sam has never played this game before and her anxious stomach flip-flops at the notion of flying through space.
